GoFundMe is hiring a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead the Create squad responsible for the campaign-creation experience, Studio, templates, brand kits, and AI-assisted content. This leadership role blends people leadership with hands-on engineering in a data-driven, experiment-first culture.

The role requires in-office presence in the San Francisco Bay Area (3x per week) and collaboration with Product Marketing, Care/Support, Data, and adjacent squads to deliver end-to-end value for

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading software teams and shipping customer-facing web apps.
• Strong hands-on engineering background with a product-minded approach.
• Experience with data-driven decision making in experimentation environments.
• Ability to drive architecture reviews and influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow the Create squad (~8 engineers) across frontend, fullstack, and backend.
• Own delivery for the campaign-creation experience including Studio builder framework and templates.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to frame problems and define success metrics.
• Promote an outcomes-over-output culture and fast PoCs with iterative delivery.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and incident response.
