GoFundMe is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering for the Campaign Creation Experience in the San Francisco Bay Area. Qualifications

• Experience leading and growing software engineering teams as a people manager with strong hands-on engineering background.
• Strong background building complex, customer-facing web applications with TypeScript and React.
• Product-minded, outcomes-first approach; partner with Product and Design.
• Experience in data-driven, experimentation-heavy environments with A/B testing and analytics instrumentation.
• Track record of iterative shipping balancing speed and quality on revenue-generating surfaces.
• Strong web craft: performance, accessibility, reliability, and design-system driven UI.
• Excellent communication; capable of leading distributed teams across time zones.
• Mentoring engineers and building inclusive teams with servant leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Create squad (~8 engineers) and foster a high-performing culture.
• Own engineering delivery for the campaign-creation experience: Studio builder framework, creation tools, templates, brand kits, workflows, AI-assisted text, and preview-to-publish flow.
• Collaborate early with Product and Design on framing, scope, and success metrics.
• Champion an outcomes-over-output, bias-to-action culture; ship minimal viable versions with PoCs.
• Participate in architecture/design reviews, decisions, and incident response; contribute hands-on where needed.
• Raise quality for a complex, interactive builder focusing on performance, accessibility, reliability, and maintainability.
• Move key metrics: Studio adoption, campaign-creation rate, time-to-publish, conversion via A/B testing.
• Partner across teams for dependencies and a seamless end-to-end experience.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop engineers across a distributed team with regular feedback.
• Champion AI-assisted development using Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot; explore AI-powered capabilities.
