Job summary

GoFundMe is hiring a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead the Create squad responsible for the campaign-creation experience and Studio builder tools. You will guide frontend, fullstack, and backend engineers, drive architectural decisions, and champion AI-assisted development to accelerate nonprofit campaigns.

The role blends hands-on leadership with product-minded engineering, focusing on outcomes, rapid PoCs, and measurable improvements in adoption and conversion.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering teams as a people manager with hiring and performance development.
• Strong background building complex, customer-facing web apps with TypeScript and React.
• Product-minded and outcomes-first approach, partnering with Product and Design.
• Experience delivering in a data-driven, experimentation-heavy environment with analytics.
• Track record shipping iteratively with bias to action on revenue-generating surfaces.
• Excellent web craft: performance, accessibility, reliability, design systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow the Create squad (~8 engineers) as a servant-leader.
• Own delivery for the campaign-creation experience including Studio and tools.
• Partner with Product and Design to frame problems, scope, and success metrics.
• Champion outcomes-over-output, ship minimal viable versions with PoCs and iterations.
• Participate in architecture reviews, decisions, code reviews, and incident response.
• Ensure quality for a complex builder with performance and accessibility focus.
• Move metrics: Studio adoption, campaign-creation rate, time-to-publish, conversions.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop engineers across a distributed team.
