Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Senior Manager - Software Development Engineering to lead and mentor a team of engineers, defining system requirements, architecture, and delivery timelines. The role drives technical strategy, oversees SDLC, and collaborates with Product, Data, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to align on technical solutions and business outcomes.

Role requires strong cloud, distributed systems, and modern software practices, with 7+ years of software engineering

Qualifications

• 7+ years of overall software engineering experience with at least 5+ years of leading projects or managing directs.
• 7+ years of experience using and/or managing projects using Java, Spring boot, Kafka to build/deploy, and maintain software applications using cloud platforms.
• 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams without direct authority, including collaboration with engineering, architecture, security, and business stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
• 3+ years of experience defining technology strategy and leading the adoption and operationalization of technologies such as AI/ML, cloud services, automation, and developer productivity tools in a large-scale enterprise environment with measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Own risk mitigation and production stability by proactively identifying system vulnerabilities and driving timely resolution.
• Oversee the full SDLC, ensuring secure coding practices and scalable architecture principles.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Infrastructure, and stakeholders to translate requirements and align priorities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and lead innovation through proofs-of-concepts and technology selection.
• Build high-performing teams by hiring, evaluating, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
