Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Senior Manager – Software Development Engineering to lead and mentor a team of engineers, defining system requirements, architecture, and timelines for strategic software initiatives. You will drive technical strategy, partner with Product/Data/Infrastructure, and shape delivery pipelines across the SDLC.

You will ensure production stability, oversee architecture, and push for best practices, security, and scalable design while advancing modern engineering

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5+ years leading projects or managing directs.
• 7+ years of experience building/deploying software using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka on cloud platforms.
• 3+ years leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
• 3+ years defining technology strategy and adopting AI/ML, cloud services, automation at scale.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and modern practices.

Responsibilities

• Own risk mitigation and production stability, driving timely resolution of complex issues.
• Oversee the full SDLC ensuring secure coding practices and scalable architecture.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Infrastructure and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concepts to improve performance and productivity.
• Build high-performing teams through hiring, evaluations, and fostering technical excellence.
