Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Senior Manager – Software Development Engineering to lead and mentor a team of software engineers. You will provide technical direction, architecture guidance, and establish engineering goals aligned with business outcomes.

You will drive the SDLC, manage cross-functional collaboration, and champion secure, scalable practices while continuously evaluating new technologies to boost performance and developer productivity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5+ years of leading projects or managing directs.
• 7+ years of experience using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka to build/deploy and maintain software applications on cloud platforms.
• 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams without direct authority in a matrix organization.
• 3+ years of experience defining technology strategy and adopting AI/ML, cloud services, automation in a large-scale environment.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, APIs, microservices and modern software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Own risk mitigation and production stability, identify vulnerabilities, perform root cause analyses and resolve complex issues for high availability.
• Oversee the full SDLC, ensure secure coding practices and scalable architecture across teams.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Infrastructure and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and align priorities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concepts to improve system performance and developer productivity.
• Build high-performing engineering teams through hiring, performance evaluation and knowledge sharing.
