Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead to provide technical leadership, solution architecture guidance, and hands-on software development for complex enterprise applications, integrations, and cloud-native platforms.

You will partner with Product, Architecture, Security, and Delivery teams to ensure successful execution of strategic objectives and drive modern engineering practices across multiple streams.

Qualifications

8–12 years of software engineering experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes (GKE).
Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub Actions, Concourse, ArgoCD, Terraform.
Experience with API management platforms such as Apigee.
Knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and API security.
Experience with PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and data integration/analytics.
Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger and observability tooling.
Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, pharmacy, financial services).
Understanding of HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, SSDLC, and risk/compliance controls.
Experience leading cloud migration and enterprise integration initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-native solutions.
Own end-to-end technical delivery across multiple workstreams with focus on scalability, security, and reliability.
Define and drive technical architecture, standards, and best practices across teams.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and guide implementations.
Lead architecture reviews, planning, and estimation for initiatives.
Drive design decisions balancing business needs, debt, and cost.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers and partners.
Serve as escalation point for complex challenges and incidents.
Promote DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, and observability practices.
