Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead to provide technical leadership across enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-native platforms. You will own end-to-end solution delivery, define architecture standards, and guide multiple teams through complex initiatives.

You will mentor engineers, drive DevSecOps practices, and collaborate with Architecture, Security, and Product teams to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience, preferred
• Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices Architecture, React and/or Angular
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform (preferred)
• Strong experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred), Cloud-native app development, Container orchestration, IaC
• Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD Pipelines (GitHub Actions, Concourse, ArgoCD, Terraform)
• Hands-on experience with API Management and Integration platforms such as Apigee & Other enterprise integration platforms
• Strong understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, API Security, Auth models
• Experience with PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Relational & NoSQL databases, Data integration & analytics
• OpenAPI/Swagger, API lifecycle management, Automated testing, Observability & monitoring tools
• Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, pharmacy, financial services)
• Understanding of HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, SSDLC, Risk & compliance controls
• Experience leading cloud migration & modernization
• Experience building enterprise integration platforms & API ecosystems

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-native solutions.
• Own end-to-end technical solution delivery across multiple workstreams with focus on scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Define and drive technical architecture, engineering standards, and development best practices across teams.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and guide implementation strategies.
• Lead technical planning, estimation, and architecture reviews for initiatives.
• Drive design decisions balancing business objectives, tech debt, and cost.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers and partners.
• Act as primary escalation point for complex technical challenges and incidents.
• Lead root cause analyses and preventive improvements.
• Review designs, code, infra components, and deployment strategies for quality & security.
• Promote DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, observability practices.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Risk & Compliance teams on secure solutions.
• Evaluate emerging tech and recommend solutions for better business outcomes.
• Design and implement integrations across platforms using APIs and event-driven patterns
• Provide end-to-end oversight across application, data, security, infra domains
• Establish roadmaps for modernization and automation
• Ensure ops excellence: monitoring, alerting, HA/DR, performance
