Job summary

AnaVation, LLC is seeking a Senior Developer II to design, build, and maintain secure mission-critical applications used by federal law enforcement teams. You will guide junior engineers, collaborate with forensic experts and crypto SMEs, and ensure compliance with federal security standards in high-stakes environments.

Remote work is mostly supported with occasional visits to DC/Northern Virginia locations; onsite requirements can be described as needed and remote status may change per customer

Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages and secure coding methodologies.
• Experience with government environments requiring audit compliance, CJIS standards, or privileged access controls.
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud services and FedRAMP-aligned platforms.
• Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail
• Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for a Secret clearance. DHS EOD suitability is required.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop secure enterprise applications supporting investigative workflows.
• Implement audit logging, privileged access controls, and other federal security requirements.
• Ensure software maintainability, reliability, and compliance with secure development standards.
• Lead development activities and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
• Diagnose complex issues and optimize system performance.
• Contribute to documentation, design reviews, and code quality standards.
• Support cloud deployments and DevSecOps pipelines.
