Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Developer — Scrum Master to join the Air Traffic Business Area, delivering the L-CAP platform in a SAFe Agile environment. Hybrid role with 3 days onsite in Gaithersburg, MD and 2 days remote, with potential for 100% remote for non-commutable distances.

The role blends hands-on Java software development with Scrum Master duties, guiding an Agile team, engaging in design reviews, and ensuring secure, reliable production delivery for national air traffic

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; 8+ years of relevant experience or Master's + 6+ years.
5+ years designing, developing, testing, and reviewing production Java applications.
2+ years as a Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team in a large-scale software environment.
Experience with microservices and RESTful APIs, JSON/XML/XSD.
Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.

Responsibilities

Approximately 50% hands-on software engineering: design, develop, test, review, and maintain production-quality cloud-native microservices.
Approximately 50% Scrum Master responsibilities: facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, drive continuous improvement.
Coordinate with Release Train Engineer, Product Owner, and stakeholders to report status and delivery progress.
Mentor junior engineers and foster collaboration across teams to ensure sprint execution.
