Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to join our Corporate Credit Card delivery team in a remote role across the United States. You will design and lead the development of enterprise-scale microservices, APIs, and real-time integrations, mentoring senior developers and coordinating with product owners and external teams.

The ideal candidate has Java 11+ with Spring Boot, REST, and experience guiding SCRUM teams in large enterprises. Banking experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience designing or modifying modern microservice based systems.
• Advanced interpersonal skills including communication and negotiation.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with Java 11+.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with REST and APIs.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with Unit Test and Mocking frameworks.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with git.

• Advanced knowledge and experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business and architects to design scalable, reliable technical solutions.
• Lead multiple tech leads overseeing SCRUM teams, providing coaching and escalation for issues.
• Drives domain wide change initiatives improving quality, speed, and throughput.
• Oversee maintenance on IaaS/SaaS and on-premise apps to ensure stability and scalability.
• Coordinate troubleshooting of code defects, data errors, and configuration problems.
• Support business-critical, complex applications.
• Drive best practices, guidelines implementation and adherence to standards.
• Show expertise in real-time and file-based integrations and optimize DB processing.
• Demonstrate empathy with developers and deliver a strong developer experience.
• Build elegant, well-documented, secure code and continue learning.
