Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to join our Corporate Credit Card delivery team, delivering enterprise-grade systems in a large banking environment. The role is remote but within allowed states; you will design and lead implementations, mentor developers, and collaborate with product owners and external teams.

You will partner with architects to design scalable solutions, lead SCRUM teams, and ensure reliable, secure code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• Advanced knowledge of Java 11+ and REST APIs.
• Experience designing or modifying modern microservice systems.
• Strong understanding of Spring and Spring Boot.
• Solid knowledge of design patterns and OOD/OOA.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to mentor senior developers and lead tech leads.
• Excellent communication with product owners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop technical solutions that meet user needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Lead multiple tech leads overseeing SCRUM teams within the domain and provide coaching.
• Drive domain-wide initiatives to improve quality, speed, and throughput.
• Oversee maintenance of existing IaaS/SaaS and on-premise apps across Digital, Cards, Risk, and Merchant Services.
• Coordinate troubleshooting of defects, data errors and configurations to identify root causes.
• Support business-critical/complex applications in production and during upgrades.
• Adhere to departmental standards and best practices and drive process improvements.
• Design and develop real-time integrations and file-based integrations; optimize DB processing.
