Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to join our Corporate Credit Card delivery team in a remote capacity, with hiring scope in AZ, FL, GA, NY, NC, and TX.

You will design scalable solutions for corporate cards, risk underwriting, portfolio management, and merchant services, while leading SCRUM teams and coaching senior developers to deliver reliable, well-documented software through automated testing and strong collaboration with product owners and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 3+ years of experience.
• Advanced experience designing or modifying modern microservice-based systems.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Java 11+ and REST APIs.
• Proficient with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum practices and Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop technical solutions with a focus on functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Lead multiple tech leads overseeing SCRUM teams and provide coaching.
• Drive domain-wide change to improve quality, speed, and throughput.
• Maintain and support enterprise apps across Digital, Cards, Risk, and Merchant Services.
• Troubleshoot defects, data issues, and configuration problems.
