Job summary

Level Data LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I for a fully remote role serving the K-12 education data platform. You will design, implement, and own features across a C#/.NET backend with SQL Server, and collaborate on React/Node frontends and Postgres on newer products.

You will guide teammates, review code, and contribute to product planning. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in software engineering, strong CS fundamentals, and hands-on experience with Azure and cloud deployments, CI/CD,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience owning a complex codebase and moving effectively between codebases.
• Strong CS fundamentals with depth in a modern web stack.
• Hands-on experience with C# and .NET including ASP.NET web apps and backend services.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical standard bearer for the team, setting the quality bar and reviews.
• Design, build, and own features end to end across C#/.NET and SQL Server core, with React/Node on newer products.
• Break down large technical problems into approachable chunks and sequence work with the Product Owner.
• Develop deep knowledge of the team's tech estate and data integrations between state systems.
• Act as a technical resource, unblocking teammates and avoiding bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with Product, Customer Success, and GTM to align on customer problems and engineering solutions.
• Identify opportunities for optimization to improve availability and performance.
• Contribute to estimation and planning, voicing technical recommendations.
• Participate in a self-managing Scrum team, including production support.
