Job summary

People Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own design and implementation of scalable services across our Picksy platform. You will mentor engineers, influence architecture decisions, and collaborate with product and design teams to deliver world‑class features.

The role emphasizes production readiness, performance, and cost optimization while working in a hybrid setup with three office days per week for those within commuting distance of major hubs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of professional technology experience.
• Deep understanding of REST and service architectures.
• Production services in AWS or GCP with containers and CI/CD.
• Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS; some Java and GraphQL knowledge.
• Frontend familiarity with HTML/CSS and Vue/Nuxt preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, highly available services.
• Lead architecture discussions and mentor engineers.
• Own production services end-to-end including monitoring and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into features.
• Provide documentation for services and best practices.
• Drive tech debt identification and maintenance activities.
