Job summary

The Clearing House is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the RTP Product Engineering team in the United States. You will design, develop, and enhance our real-time interbank payment platform, building new features while improving reliability and performance.

The role emphasizes cloud-native architectures, automation, and AI-assisted practices with a hands-on focus on Java, Spring, AWS, and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Java development using Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience with cloud-native microservices and distributed systems.
• Hands-on AWS or other cloud provider serverless/managed services.
• Event-driven architectures with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Python for data pipelines and automation.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical partners.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% between NYC and NC offices.
• Strong problem-solving for real-time payment platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain highly reliable software supporting real-time payment processing.
• Serve as a senior technical contributor across the complete software development lifecycle.
• Develop software components primarily in Java, leveraging Spring and Spring Boot.
• Develop critical applications using AWS cloud-native services and event-driven architectures (containerized/serverless).
• Develop Python scripts for data automation and integration services.
• Design and implement services and APIs with modern software engineering practices.
