Job summary

The Clearing House Payments Company is seeking a Software Engineer to join the RTP Product Engineering team in Charlotte. You will design, develop, test, and maintain a high-availability real-time interbank payments platform, collaborating with product, architecture, and operations to deliver secure, scalable software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
• 3+ years in Java software development including design, development, documentation, implementation and testing
• Experience developing Python scripts and programs for data management and analysis
• Exposure to AWS or another major public cloud provider and cloud-native architectures
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and automated build/deploy processes
• Solid problem-solving and analytical skills for software design and troubleshooting
• Willingness to learn new technologies and work collaboratively
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical partners
• Collaborative team player across multiple teams

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable software supporting real-time payment processing
• Write clean Java code aligned with quality standards and secure coding practices
• Develop components using enterprise Java frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot)
• Develop Python scripts for data automation and integration services
• Modernize existing applications and migrate toward cloud-native platforms
• Create and maintain services, APIs, components, and automated tests
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and engineering design discussions
• Apply CI/CD practices for automated building, testing, and deployment
• Work with containerized apps and Kubernetes environments for releases
• Build applications on AWS using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform)
• Engage in monitoring, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
• Follow security, testing, documentation, and change-management practices
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, product teams, and operations
• Leverage approved AI-assisted development tools for coding and quality improvements
