Job summary

Akina Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer 3 to design, develop, deploy, and support Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions within a high-performance computing Linux environment in Annapolis Junction, MD.

The role emphasizes Python development, Kubernetes orchestration, and containerized systems, with a focus on agile processes and strong collaboration across teams. Clearance TS/SCI - Polygraph is required, with a competitive package and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• Proven Linux experience with CLI for development and admin tasks.
• Hands-on Python development experience with modern practices.
• Experience with containerization: Docker, Podman, containerd.
• Experience deploying Helm charts to manage Kubernetes apps and services.
• Experience containerized apps in production environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes resources (Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingresses, Operators).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Flux CD or similar).
• Observability with Prometheus and Grafana; Git-based workflows.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances software systems affecting HPC RAG solutions.
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to design and documents results.
• Debugs defects and analyzes system performance against requirements.
• Develops data queries for databases or data repositories.
• Leads one or more software development teams as applicable.
• Develops cloud-based solutions and orchestration using Kubernetes and related tools.
