Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to design, develop, and support RAG solutions in an HPC Linux environment. You will work on Python-based systems, containerized deployments, and Kubernetes orchestration, while leading software teams as appropriate.

The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph clearance and a strong background in modern software practices. The position emphasizes agile processes, OSS/GOTS trade-offs, and collaboration with system engineers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Linux environments and CLI
• Strong Python development experience
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Podman, containerd)
• Experience building Helm charts for Kubernetes
• Experience deploying and supporting containerized apps in production
• Experience with Kubernetes resources (Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingresses, Operators)
• Background with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI/CD, Flux CD or equivalent)
• Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Git-based workflows and code reviews
• Understanding SDLC, security scanning, and DevSecOps practices

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and support RAG solutions in HPC Linux environments
• Develop and maintain software components; write and review tests and docs
• Lead software development teams; coordinate with system engineers
• Analyze requirements and derive performance targets; optimize code
• Develop data queries and database interactions
• Ensure software quality and governance across projects
• Integrate existing software into new systems and environments
• Develop event/data driven analytics and cloud-based solutions
• Collaborate on architecture decisions and OSS/GOTS considerations
• Mentor junior engineers and oversee release processes
