M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking an Engineer 3 to join the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit in Tysons, VA.

You will design, build, and maintain cyber-physical solutions for mission-critical facilities across federal, local, and commercial customers. You will translate customer needs into software requirements, develop Python services and UI components, and contribute to .NET-based solutions. Expect collaboration with product managers, cybersecurity engineers, and field teams in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline and 5+ years of progressive software development.
• Proven experience with Python, Angular/TypeScript, and C#/.NET.
• Experience designing components, APIs, and discussing tradeoffs with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Translate needs into software requirements, data models, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop Python services, automation workflows, and system integrations.
• Design Angular/TypeScript UIs and contribute to C#/.NET components.
• Create modular architectures for integration products with clear interfaces.
• Integrate platforms via vendor APIs, SDKs, databases, and messaging systems.
• Produce diagrams, interface specs, data models, and architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with product, systems, cybersecurity teams, and customers.
• Guide junior engineers through reviews, pairing, and best practices.
• Build tests and contribute to CI/CD and repeatable releases.
• Diagnose defects, improve logging, monitoring, and supportability.
• Apply secure coding, dependency management, and access control.
• Evaluate new technologies and reduce technical debt.
