Job summary

Adyen is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the nascent US Bank Accounts team in Chicago. You will build and scale capabilities to open, manage, and move money within our ecosystem, shaping technical design, architecture, and roadmap decisions as an early team member.

You’ll partner with engineering, product, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable banking experiences. This Chicago-based role requires in-person collaboration in a primarily office-first environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in the software development industry.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• This role is based out of our Chicago office; we do not offer remote-only roles.
• Office-first company with in-person collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex technical projects from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing and launch into production.
• Build APIs and tooling according to quality principles such as performance and code quality.
• Be hands-on and contribute to the implementation.
• Collaborate across teams and time zones to get projects over the finish line.
• Own projects from beginning to end and influence architecture and roadmap decisions.
• Launch fast and iterate often; bring live functionalities that impact many merchants and shoppers.
