Job summary

OnePay is seeking a Software Engineer on the Banking team to directly impact how customers access, move, and manage money, from scalable banking services to real-time money movement reliability. You will design, build, and ship features that scale with a growing user base while upholding security and performance.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product, design, risk, and compliance, and help shape our technical roadmap. This remote role supports US teams and rapid growth.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional backend or full-stack software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling production APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience with sensitive financial data and money movement systems.
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript; familiarity with microservices, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Experience with mobile or user-facing apps, ideally React Native.
• Strong communication and collaboration; mentoring engineers.
• Drive and proactivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of banking features that scale with our growing customer base and support a seamless mobile experience.
• Set architectural standards for code quality, performance, security, and reliability across our banking services.
• Own the technical approach to complex challenges at scale, including sensitive financial data and real-time money movement.
• Mentor and grow engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on collaboration on tough problems.
• Partner closely with product, design, risk, and compliance to shape the roadmap and turn it into high-quality, shipped software.
• Create and maintain clear documentation, a must-have for a growing, remote organization.
