Job summary

Farm Credit Financial Partners, Inc. in Springfield, MA is seeking a Software Engineer III to contribute to software solutions across on-prem and cloud environments, driving the migration from legacy C#/SQL to Azure and Salesforce while applying AI/ML tooling in product development.

You will collaborate with architects and cross-functional teams, lead code reviews, ensure CI/CD, and mentor junior engineers in a hybrid work setting with growth and impact across the product portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience with cloud-based solutions (Azure/AWS) and legacy systems (.NET/C#/SQL).
• Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming, web services, and modern application frameworks.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and version control; REST/SOAP, Java, C#/C++, .NET, or Apex.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience leading portions of development efforts and mentoring junior developers.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-powered applications concepts and MCP is a plus.
• Strong experience with Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, ORM, and relational databases.
• Familiarity with architectural patterns and best practices in modern software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of software for strategic projects with architects and other developers.
• Support planning and estimation; document development work and collateral as needed.
• Participate in and lead code reviews to ensure coding standards, performance, and security.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues across application layers, including production issues.
• Perform as technical lead on smaller projects and collaborate on larger ones.
• Use development technology in adherence with best practices for the project at hand.
• Recommend improvements to development processes, tooling, automation, and coding practices.
• Develop software in mixed Windows, Apple, and PaaS environments for compatibility and stability.
• Ensure adherence to CI/CD, testing standards, and deployment practices with DevOps/QA teams.
• Utilize Jira for task management and assignments; use AI-assisted development tools as standard.
