Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a senior engineer to lead at the frontier of cloud-native financial systems and AI‑driven engineering. You will drive architecture, implement high‑availability services, and orchestrate AI coding agents across the SDLC to accelerate delivery.

You will collaborate with global teams to modernize platforms, ensure security and observability, and deliver scalable solutions that support trading and post-trade workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 6 years of professional software development experience in Java (Java 17 preferred).
  • Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and governing AI agents.
  • Experience building event-driven and distributed systems, including messaging platforms like Kafka.
  • Strong SDLC practices: version control, CI/CD, automated builds/tests/deploys.
  • Solid testing discipline: unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
  • Ability to navigate and debug large codebases and collaborate across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate high-availability, multi-region cloud-native services with observability built in.
  • Develop event-driven architectures and optimized data paths for high-throughput trade lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to modernize processes and digitize business workflows.
  • Manage full lifecycle of software components in line with robust SDLC and Agile practices.
