Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable software for the Engines business unit in Huntsville. You will deploy cloud-based solutions on AWS, implement APIs, and drive best practices across the development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements, mentor junior developers, and stay current with emerging technologies to support safe spaceflight programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience with Python and TypeScript.
• Experience with React frontend framework and AWS cloud services.
• Experience developing, deploying, and integrating APIs in a microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software using modern languages.
• Implement and manage APIs, ensuring flawless integration and efficient performance across systems.
• Deploy applications and services on AWS with cloud-native architectures for high availability and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and technical specifications.
• Drive adoption of best practices in code quality, testing, and maintainability.
• Own the full application lifecycle from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of shared learning.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in existing software and evaluate new technologies.
