Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to design and deliver scalable software for payments and card offerings. This remote role will own technical execution from requirements through deployment and help steer the platform's architecture.

You will partner with stakeholders and engineering teammates to translate business needs into solutions, elevate engineering practices, and drive faster, higher-quality releases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years with relational datastores (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience delivering on AWS or Azure.
• Experience with automation and tests (test pyramid).
• Strong data security and compliance knowledge in cloud environments (finance preferred).
• Proven leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This remote role will focus on designing and delivering scalable software solutions that support partner needs and improve the customer experience across payments and card-related offerings. The ideal candidate will own technical execution from requirements through deployment, while helping shape the architectural direction of a key platform and driving faster, higher-quality releases.

You will partner closely with stakeholders and engineering teammates to translate business needs into effective solutions, strengthen engineering practices, and contribute to technical excellence across the team.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $121,500 – $145,500 annually

Responsibilities

• Build custom solutions for partners to enhance their business portfolio
• Engage with stakeholders to understand needs and demo technical solutions
• Define and implement a comprehensive architectural roadmap for the platform
• Challenge the status quo to reduce time-to-market with efficient engineering methods
• Support customers in their payments and card businesses by building necessary features

Qualifications
