Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join a highly skilled, multinational Site Reliability team.

You will help design, build, and run automation and observability for compute platforms, focusing on performance, reliability, and scale across Linux-based infrastructure. You will work with SaltStack, Ansible, Kubernetes, and other tooling to automate tasks, investigate bottlenecks, and improve the reliability of Akamai’s compute services for billions of users

Qualifications

8+ years of experience and a Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science or its equivalent.
Advanced experience with the Linux kernel, OS, KVM/QEMU, and nested virtualization.
Expert level experience with designing, developing, and deploying software and infrastructure at scale.
Experience working with large scale distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Developing, testing, and distributing changes to automation, software, services, and tools the HIVE team is responsible for.
Designing and implementing enhancements to HIVE observability infrastructure to identify and correct problems before they impact customers.
Working with new tooling, code and environments and automating what’s possible.
Creating supporting tooling using Ansible or Profiling to aid in performance investigations.
Developing subject matter expertise in various components across our Compute environment.
Collaborating with our support, operations and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems.
