Job summary
WSP USA seeks a Lead Professional, Signal Engineer-CBTC to join our Transit and Rail/Systems Engineering teams in New York or New Jersey offices. This role can be based out of New York City, Valhalla-NY, Troy-NY, Lawrenceville-NJ, Morristown-NJ or Newark-NJ.
The Signal Engineer provides specialized technical support for CBTC and fixed-block systems during migration. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of relay-based signaling and CBTC software interlocking logic, with hands-on experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, systems, or railway engineering.
- 7+ years of signaling system experience (fixed-block/CBTC).
- Experience reviewing block design packages for mixed-mode signaling.
- Knowledge of NYCT signaling principles and legacy systems.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve block designs for mixed-mode operation.
- Coordinate between CBTC supplier, designer, and operations.
- Assess interlocking logic in relay-based and CBTC software.
- Approve test procedures for interlocking and signal control sequences.
- Ensure interoperability and safety during migration to CBTC.
