WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Professional, Signal Engineer-CBTC to join our Transit and Rail/Systems Engineering in on of our New York or New Jersey offices. This position can be based out of: New York City, Valhalla-NY, Troy-NY, Lawrenceville-NJ, Morristown-NJ or Newark-NJ.

The Signal Engineer provides specialized technical support and oversight of both fixed-block signaling and application to the CBTC system program. This position ensures that signal designs, interlocking logic, and mixed-mode block configurations are reviewed, validated, and approved in compliance with NYCT operational principles and safety standards. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of both traditional relay-based signaling and software-based interlocking logic, with hands‑on experience to support NYCT projects. This role serves as a vital liaison between the supplier, designer, and NYCT Operations to facilitate design acceptance, support test readiness, and ensure system safety and operational continuity throughout the migration to CBTC.
