Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to lead the stability, scalability, and advancement of enterprise service-management platforms. You will guide architecture, governance, and integrations across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, CSM, and security-related domains.

You will own platform strategy, mentor engineers, and drive best practices while ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent
Multiple certifications in current platform/domain/technical skill
Hands-on with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and Integration Hub
Strong ITIL v4, TOGAF, and enterprise architecture knowledge
Experience designing enterprise-grade platform solutions across ITSM/ITOM/CMDB/CSM

Responsibilities

Serve as a technical resource for multiple enterprise platform components
Troubleshoot platform issues and resolve complex interdependencies
Design scalable, secure solutions across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, SecOps, GRC, and CSM
Evaluate and implement new platform capabilities, plugins, and integrations
Define and enforce platform governance, data models, naming conventions, and standards
Oversee lifecycle management of mission-critical software products and services
Lead platform upgrades, module rollouts, and performance optimization
Create architecture diagrams, technical docs, and solution blueprints
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure architectural compliance and risk management
Travel to other MTA locations as needed and support 24/7 operations
