Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Infrastructure Platform ServiceNow IT Service Management team. You will design, code, test, and deliver secure software across the ServiceNow platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive scalable solutions.

You will apply agile practices, leverage AI-assisted development tools, and focus on data-driven improvements, with a strong emphasis on security, reliability, and performance across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on ServiceNow platform implementation experience.
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (JavaScript/GlideScript/ServiceNow scripting) and database querying languages.
• Experience in Java/PHP/Python programming language.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow development best practices—scripting, configuration, tool navigation, custom widgets.
• Experience in agile delivery, CI/CD, and security engineering.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with ability to tackle non-routine problems.
• Creates secure, high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run with connected systems.
• Leverages enterprise AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, speed, and productivity with peer review and testing.
• Applies SDLC tools to improve value realized by automation.
• Produces architecture/design artifacts for complex applications and ensures design constraints.
• Contributes to engineering communities of practice and events.
• Designs, codes, tests, and delivers software on the ServiceNow platform.
• Develops data visualizations and reports from large data sets for continuous improvement.
• Identifies hidden data patterns to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Supports scrum practices and agile delivery planning with Business Analysis.
• Collaborates with Business Analysis for estimates and delivery plans.
