Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to support the CMS program with advanced ServiceNow development, integrations, and AI-enabled tooling. You will design, configure, and optimize ServiceNow workflows, rules, and UI components, while integrating external systems and maintaining robust documentation.

The role requires strong JavaScript skills across the full SDLC, plus experience with REST/SOAP integrations, and agile delivery.

Qualifications

6+ years of full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience with a strong emphasis on JavaScript.
Proven experience as a developer outside the ServiceNow platform, with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Expertise in advanced ServiceNow development, including: Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, UI Actions, and UI Pages.
Experience designing, building, and troubleshooting integrations between ServiceNow and external systems, including REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and authentication methods such as OAuth and Basic Auth.
Hands-on experience configuring and managing Now Assist applications (e.g., Now Assist for ITSM, HRSD, CSM, or Creator).
Strong communication skills with a focus on collaboration, clarity, and self-awareness.
Experience working on Agile/Scrum project teams.

Responsibilities

Develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications, ensuring best practices in workflows, integrations, automations, access controls, the Service Catalog, and more.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy solutions that meet business needs.
Build and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and other applications using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and other methods.
Utilize AI developer tools (such as ServiceNow SDK, Fluent, or similar tools) to accelerate the delivery of JavaScript, ServiceNow scripts (Business Rules, Script Includes), and configurations.
Participate in code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Troubleshoot and ensure system reliability through robust design, comprehensive testing, and responsiveness to any issues.
Create and maintain clear, detailed technical documentation for applications, APIs, and processes.
Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in ServiceNow to recommend and implement innovative system improvements.
