GM Defense seeks an experienced Serviceability Engineer to support design development and ensure serviceability and remanufacturability across global vehicle platforms. You will participate in engineering reviews to elevate service issues and drive readiness of service deliverables.
Responsibilities include leading service parts BOM development, tool and procedure validation, and providing technical guidance to program management, field teams, and suppliers.
Represent advanced serviceability and remanufacturability during the Design Development Process
Participate in Product Engineering meetings and peer reviews to identify, address, or elevate service issues
Support service deliverable readiness for GM Defense vehicles globally
Lead identification of service parts and development of the Service Parts Bill of Materials
Support development and validation of service special tools and procedures
Provide support for emerging and quality issues
Provide technical support to program management, Product Engineering, Parts Release, Remanufacturing, Service Training, Warranty Center, Technical Assistance, Assembly Plants, Field Support, and suppliers
Work with department functions and suppliers on cost reduction and math improvements
Provide technical direction to support personnel
Communicate information to and from internal and external customer organizations
Stay current with new technology and driven practices
Perform special assignments as requested
Demonstrates expertise in Serviceability Engineering and Product Support, with a strong focus on technical direction, problem-solving, and collaboration across various departments. Capable of managing service deliverable readiness and supporting the development of service parts and tools while ensuring compliance with ITAR and security clearance requirements.
