Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Server Hardware Engineer to own the design and development of next-generation server products with a broad set of manufacturing and software partners.

You'll collaborate with software, hardware, and network teams across AWS to translate customer needs into scalable architectures, guiding projects from conception to launch and operations while maintaining high standards for performance, reliability, and cost.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 5+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
• Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
• Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware, or experience in debugging, profiling, and implementing software engineering best practices in large-scale systems
• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures

Responsibilities

• You will own and lead the design and development of server products utilizing a wide range of design and manufacturing partners.
• You’ll collaborate with software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles across AWS.
• You will work closely with customers to understand their technical needs and business goals, translating them into scalable server solutions.
• You will lead a cross-disciplinary team to bring servers to the data center and oversee the fleet post-launch.
• You will decompose complex problems into manageable tasks and deliverables.
