Polar Semiconductor, LLC in Bloomington, MN seeks a senior engineer to contribute to development, transfer, optimization, and documentation of process flows and macro modules for Power Trench MOSFETs and BCD devices. You will characterize devices to ensure reliability and performance per quality standards and evaluate new opportunities for technology transfer.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Materials Science with 10+ years of related experience.
• Experience in CMOS/BCDMOS or Discrete IGBTs/MOSFETs and front-end process modules.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics and data correlation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform process and device simulations to determine initial process parameters.
• Design experiments and analyze results to determine process sequences and parameters.
• Analyze data from test lots to identify optimization needs.
• Mentor and oversee 2-3 junior engineers as needed.
• Work with Process Engineering to develop, characterize, and optimize process modules.
• Support processing of initial test chips and transfer lots to identify issues and achieve first-pass success.
• Provide inputs to Device Engineers to develop layout rules using data.
• Recommend test structures and contribute to test chip mask design to evaluate dependencies.
• Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly updates to management and external customers.
• Support CQI, 5S, yield management and cost containment initiatives.
• Perform other duties as required.
