Job summary

Polar Semiconductor in Bloomington, MN seeks a Senior Process Engineer to drive development, transfer, optimization and documentation of the process flow and macro modules for Power Trench MOSFETs and BCD devices that meet performance goals.

You will characterize and document devices for reliability, evaluate new opportunities, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with Process and Device Engineers to design test structures and layout rules, delivering regular updates to management.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD and 10+ years in a relevant field.
• Experience in CMOS/BCDMOS or Discrete IGBTs/MOSFETs.
• Strong knowledge of silicon device physics.
• Experience with manufacturability-focused process flow design.
• Experience with electrical test data correlation.
• Experience interpreting failure analysis results.
• Experience in power packaging and reliability.
• Experience in design FMEA’s and DoE/data analysis tools.
• Hands-on TCAD simulations and design/layout interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform process and device simulations to optimize new process flows.
• Design experiments and analyze results to determine process parameters.
• Analyze fabrication data to determine optimization needs.
• Mentor 2-3 junior engineers.
• Collaborate with Process Engineering to optimize modules.
• Support initial test chip and transfer lots for first-pass success.
• Provide inputs to Device Engineers to develop layout rules.
• Suggest test structures and aid in test chip mask design.
• Deliver weekly/monthly/quarterly updates to management and customers.
• Support quality, safety, CQI, 5S, yield, and cost containment initiatives.
