Job summary

Polar Semiconductor in Bloomington, Minnesota is seeking engineers to develop and transfer advanced Power Trench MOSFET and BCD processes. You will simulate, experiment, and optimize process flows, ensuring reliability and manufacturability while meeting performance goals.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with Process and Device teams, and contribute to layout rule development and test-structure recommendations.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of front-end process modules (Silicon, Epi, Diffusion, Etch, Photo, Thin Films).
• Process Integration experience in CMOS/BCDMOS or Discrete IGBTs/MOSFETs required.
• Understanding of silicon semiconductor device physics.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform process and device simulations to determine initial process parameters for optimization.
• Design and perform experiments to determine process sequences and parameters for target device parameters.
• Analyze data from fabrication of test lots to decide parameters needing optimization.
• Mentor and oversee 2-3 junior engineers as needed.
• Work with Process Engineering to develop, characterize, and optimize process modules.
• Support processing of the initial test chip and transfer lots to identify issues and achieve first-pass success.
• Provide inputs to Device Engineers to develop layout rules using data.
• Recommend test structures for test chip mask sets to evaluate process dependencies.
• Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly development updates to management and customers.
• Support company initiatives like quality, safety, environmental management, CQI, 5S, yield management, cost containment.
