Job summary

Polar Semiconductor in Bloomington, Minnesota, is seeking a MEMS/OPTOELECTRONICS process engineer to develop, transfer, optimize, and document the overall process flow and macro modules required to fabricate reliable devices.

You will design experiments, analyze data, collaborate with Process Engineering, and help prepare production transfer documentation, with weekly updates to customers and a strong focus on quality, safety, CQI, and yield.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a relevant technical field.
• Experience with MEMS fabrication, DRIE and release steps.
• Strong data analysis, DOE design, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with device reliability testing and documentation.
• Proficient writing and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and perform experiments to determine process sequences and parameters.
• Analyze fabrication data to identify optimization needs.
• Collaborate with Process Engineering to develop and optimize modules.
• Support initial test chip processing and transfer lots to production.
• Document processes to enable transfer to production.
• Advise on layout rules using experimental data.
• Recommend test structures and contribute to test chip masks.
• Create and manage project schedules with mitigation plans.
• Provide development updates to external customers.
• Support CQI, safety, yield management, and cost containment.
• Perform other duties as required.
