Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead projects for federal and public sector clients. The role involves evaluating remediation options, coordinating with engineers and scientists, and delivering technically sound designs for complex sediment sites.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and about 7 years of related experience, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and designs for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port settings.
• Understand principles of sediment transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial design and construction.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites, communicating technical strategy to clients and coordinating with subject matter experts.
• Lead other staff in preparing, reviewing, and ensuring technically sound documents compliant with regulations.
