Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead sediment remediation projects for Federal and Public sector clients. The candidate will independently manage work and mentor junior staff, while coordinating with engineers and scientists to deliver technically sound designs and reports that meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with related experience.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Assess feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation solutions.
• Understand contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling, cap modeling, dredge methods and remedial action.
• Support statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Act as task manager coordinating complex sediment sites and client communication.
• Be an SME on CERCLA, GLLA and other regulatory steps at sediment sites.
• Liaise with clients and outside consultants, explain technical results to non-experts.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical documents for regulatory compliance.
