Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead and perform sediment remediation projects for federal and public clients. The role requires independent work and the ability to guide a team of engineers and scientists on complex sites, including regulatory interactions.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in sediment transport, site assessment, cap modeling, and remedial design, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Experience leading engineers/scientists on sediment remediation projects.
• Knowledge of CERCLA, GLLA and regulatory steps at contaminated sediment sites.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and designs.
• Lead and manage sediment remediation projects for federal/public clients.
• Support environmental data analysis with statistical evaluations.
• Communicate technical strategies to clients and stakeholders.
• Liaise with clients, public, and outside consultants.
• Guide staff in preparing technical documents to regulatory standards.
