Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Technician to install, program, start-up, certify, and train customers on fire, security, and building automation systems in Racine, WI. You will serve as the primary technical interface with customers, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time project delivery while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience
• Minimum Experience: 5-7 years relevant
• Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
• Strong technical skills and experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems
• Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Responsibilities

• Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services a substantial variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
• Assigns, trains, and serves as the key interface for technical support and customer training to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Reads complex blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation requirements; interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment.
• Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions.
• Mentors and trains less experienced staff and may supervise workers in testing and tuning equipment.
