Job summary

CrowdStrike Intelligence seeks a highly technical security researcher to analyze in-the-wild exploits and support adversary tracking. You will reverse engineer exploits, build automation, and develop signatures to enable large-scale hunting and mitigation. Collaboration with multiple teams and clear threat reporting are essential.

Remote-friendly role with occasional travel; MA/MS in CS preferred. Strong writing and Python skills are required to communicate complex findings to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in exploitation techniques commonly seen in userpace and kernel exploits.
• Knowledge of common network service exploitation techniques.
• Solid understanding of at least two OS platforms, including Windows.
• Familiarity with standard web-based exploitation vectors.
• Collaborative mindset and strong team player.
• Proficient with reverse engineering tools and processes (unpacking malware, reconstructing code).
• Knowledge of programming and scripting languages, particularly Python.
• Ability to leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate vulnerability research and exploit analysis.
• Strong written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement tracking systems for cross-team adversary tracking based on exploitation behavior.
• Improve and maintain capabilities for detecting exploits and malicious payloads.
• Identify opportunities to increase threat visibility using new data sources.
• Maintain understanding of exploit internals through reverse engineering.
• Develop tools to automate exploit analysis tasks.
• Create a classification framework for attribution of intrusion activity.
• Contribute to active mitigation efforts with technical expertise.
• Develop host- and network-based signatures for large-scale hunting and prevention.
• Produce high-quality threat intelligence reports with actionable guidance.
• Brief complex analysis results to varied audiences.
