Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a security researcher to analyze in-the-wild exploits and document exploitation techniques. The role sits in the Technical Analysis Cell and focuses on defensive research against state-sponsored and criminal actors.

You will develop automation, contribute to threat intelligence reporting, and collaborate across teams to inform mitigations and products. This remote role may require travel and demands strong writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in exploitation techniques seen in userspace and kernel exploits.
• Knowledge of common network service exploitation techniques.
• Solid understanding of Windows and another OS platform.
• Familiarity with web-based exploitation vectors.
• Strong collaborative mindset and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement tracking systems for adversary tracking based on observed exploitation behavior.
• Improve detection capabilities for exploits and malicious payloads.
• Identify opportunities to increase threat visibility using new data sources.
• Maintain understanding of exploits through reverse engineering.
• Develop tools to automate exploit analysis tasks and extend analysis frameworks.
• Create classifications to aid attribution of intrusion activity.
