Job summary

The Durst Organization is seeking a Security Manager to oversee safety across portfolio properties and lead a team of security officers. You will work with the Director of Security to implement physical and technical security strategies, maintain staffing, and respond to incidents.

The role requires extensive security leadership experience, relevant licenses, and the ability to coordinate with law enforcement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, or a related field or equivalent experience
• 15 years of relevant work experience in law enforcement and/or security operations with at least five years of managerial capacity
• Must hold an active NYC Unrestricted Concealed Carry Handgun License or have the ability to obtain one
• Must possess HR-218 Certification, NYS Armed Guard License, and a Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License at the time of hire

Responsibilities

• Patrol portfolio properties to ensure safety of buildings and tenants
• Lead security supervisors and officers, maintain staffing and schedules
• Coordinate with government agencies and area law enforcement
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures and best practices
• Provide leadership, training and guidance to security personnel
• Plan for disaster response and business continuity
• Communicate security strategies to employees and management
• Liaise with senior management and support sustainability initiatives
