Job summary

AWS Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) seeks a Senior Security Engineer to embed with delivery teams and own security for production AI systems deployed with customers.

You will conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and build automation to scale security across AI deployments. This role combines senior application security expertise with customer-facing delivery, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of security experience across applications, cloud, and AI security.
• 5+ years identifying security issues and developing mitigation plans.
• 4+ years scripting, programming, and security code review in common languages.
• Knowledge of two of: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Experience with threat modeling and penetration testing or equivalent analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security design reviews, threat modeling, and architecture assessments for production AI systems.
• Embed with FDE delivery teams; assess infrastructure security posture and implement controls.
• Build security automation and tooling: scanning, testing, monitoring capabilities; reusable accelerators.
• Implement AI-specific threat controls: prompt injection, guardrail bypass, data isolation.
• Integrate security into FDE workflows: CI/CD security gates, secrets management, dependency scanning, container security.
• Triage and respond to production AI security incidents; monitor AI security signals.
• Document solutions as reusable patterns, playbooks, and architectural guidance.
