AWS Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) seeks a Security Engineer to join the security team and help secure production AI systems deployed in customer environments. This hands‑on role spends most of the time writing code, reviewing architectures, and implementing security controls, mentored by senior engineers, with ownership of real security deliverables from day one.

Qualifications

• 2+ years threat modeling, secure coding, identity management or security engineering experience.
• 2+ years troubleshooting systems, analyzing logs, or automating tasks.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security design reviews, code reviews, and architecture assessments for production AI systems.
• Perform threat modeling and penetration testing for AI/ML apps in customer environments.
• Build and maintain security automation: scanning tools, CI/CD gates, and guardrails.
• Implement AI-specific security controls: prompt injection prevention and data isolation.
• Support incident response for FDE-delivered AI systems and remediation efforts.
• Document findings and create reusable playbooks and runbooks.
• Contribute to accelerator libraries with reusable modules and templates.
• Up to 25% travel as needed.
