Job summary

Fortra is seeking a skilled automation/data-analysis professional to analyze efficiency opportunities and automate processes within Security Operations. The role emphasizes Python development, API usage, and proof-of-concept projects with metric-driven results.

You will collaborate with stakeholders handling phishing, brand abuse, and cyber threats, and support off-hours on-call needs. Remote-friendly with targeted US hiring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 2-3 years of software development experience.
• 4-5 years of data analysis experience leveraging SQL.
• Understanding of joins, indexes, query optimization and relational table design.
• 4-5 years of scripting experience in Python.
• Experience with Flask, creating libraries, Python packaging and CI/CD.
• 3-4 years of experience in the Cybersecurity industry.
• Understanding of DNS, Proxies, Whois, SSL.

Responsibilities

• Develop scripts and applications in Python.
• Analyze data and processes to identify automation opportunities.
• Meet with stakeholders to define requirements and provide time estimates.
• Develop quick proof of concepts to vet ideas.
• Produce metrics showing automation impact.
• Monitor applications and troubleshoot errors.
• On-call support as needed for applications.
