Job summary

Fortra is seeking a skilled Python developer for automation in Security Operations, focusing on data analysis, API usage, and proof-of-concept work. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, estimate timelines, and produce metrics showing automation impact. On-call support will be required for off-hours incidents.

This full-time role emphasizes automation, efficiency gains, and data improvements, with remote-first work and strategic hiring across multiple U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or 2-3 years of software development experience.
• 4-5 years of data analysis experience leveraging SQL.
• Understanding of joins, indexes, query optimization and relational table design.
• 4-5 years of scripting experience in Python.
• Experience with Flask, creating libraries, Python packaging and CICD.
• 3-4 years of experience in the Cybersecurity industry.
• Understanding of DNS, Proxies, Whois, SSL.

Responsibilities

• Develop scripts and applications in Python.
• Analyze data and processes to identify automation opportunities.
• Meet with stakeholders to define requirements and provide time estimates.
• Develop quick proof of concepts to vet ideas.
• Produce metrics showing automation impact.
• Monitor applications and troubleshoot errors.
• On-call support as needed for applications.
