Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Security Architect to bolster cybersecurity in Paarl, Western Cape. You will design, implement and maintain robust security architectures across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments, identifying threats and establishing mitigations.

You will lead risk assessments, threat modeling, and mentor IT staff while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. This role offers a hybrid work model in Paarl.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of information security experience with at least 4 years in security architecture.
• Proven design and implementation experience for on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Strong knowledge of network security, application security, cryptography, and IAM.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP) and security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect security solutions to protect enterprise assets against threats.
• Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
• Evaluate security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint security).
• Oversee security controls across networks, apps, and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with IT ops and development to integrate security into SDLC.
• Develop incident response plans and lead security breach responses.
• Stay updated on threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
• Provide security architecture guidance and mentorship to staff.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
